It is very sensitive but it’s beeping way to often in air, looks like turning sensitivity down helps but still to many false alarms
Haven’t used yet in but air test are promising
The Quest Xpointer Max pinpointer was promising in its initial, in the home testing, but in the field testing, it failed miserably. First, the buttons are much too small and even worse, they’re hard to push-in, especially when wearing gloves. Secondly, it falsed annoyingly. No matter what I did, lowering the sensitivity, re-GB-ing, this thing was consistently difficult to use. Luckily, I had my Garrett Carrot as back-up. My first time out with it, after the first 20 minutes, it left me no choice to switch out to the Garrett. The Quest would, when turned on, continuously beep and display “raise the coil” on the screen. On a subsequent hunt I did a side-by-side comparison between the Quest and the Garrett, although it doesn’t discriminate, the Garrett destroyed the Quest in ease of use and performance. The Quest pinpointer with discrimination (between ferrous and non-ferrous) is a great idea, but the execution just isn’t there in real life use, very disappointing!
Price is right!
