Minelab Equinox 800: Finally Got Permission!

Minelab Equinox 800 Finds Story

The downtown area of Georgetown is mostly private property. But there is one property that had the old Chinese camps, and some buildings. All the relic hunters have tried for years to get permission, the owner always said NO.
My friend and I meet at the park in town before heading out detecting, we both had our NOX 800, and I was briefly detecting in the Park, showing some tips and lasted tricks I had learned using my NOX.
My friend looked over, across the street, and saw the private property owner outside. He says, let’s go ask him and bring your detector. We go over and ask?
Can we detect? NO! But he is looking at my new detector, and it turns out that he has two, older detectors. After a few minutes of small talk, he said OK!

We detected till dark, digging up everything non ferrous. We gave everything to the property owner and he gave us the second coin found.

The minelab equinox 800 got a nice loud signal, ID about 23, but bouncing 21-23.
Removed the top layer of grass and the ID was solid 21, usually a zinc penny.
Five inches down, Silver 1848 Spanish 1/2 Real minted in Chile.

Then another nice loud tone, solid ID 28, usually a clad quarter, again about five inches down I found the target, it looked like a token, 1855 S seated Liberty silver Quad Dollar.

We also found, a pocket watch, a brass Chinese scale weight.

Tip for everyone!

Many neighbors have I asked, can I detect on your property? The usual answer is no, but ask again? Most that have said no, have given me permission right before they sold the property.

Keep digging, your gonna find something.
